West Country Parks
West Country Parks, a family-owned business established in 1972, operates over 10 residential and holiday parks throughout the UK. In an effort to remain competitive in their market and ensure future sustainability, they sought to protect themselves and their clients from rising electricity bills. The solar project has not only enabled their business to cut down on energy costs but also generate additional revenue by selling the renewable energy they produce to customers.
Project Background
Energy Oasis proposed a solution that involved implementing renewable energy technology into their operations. Our team designed a system comprised of 345 Trina PV Modules, capable of generating 144.90 kWp. The system was optimised with premium Solar Edge inverters, which not only ensured optimum performance from the solar modules but also facilitated easy maintenance.
Our Approach
The installation of the solar power system was completed at one of their sites, marking it as the first in their chain to adopt solar energy. We ensured that the system was scalable and replicable, allowing West Country Parks to consider extending this technology across their other parks. The goal was to provide them with a practical, sustainable solution that could significantly reduce their reliance on grid electricity.
Our Solutions
The project implementation led to remarkable results, both financially and environmentally. A self-consumption rate of 142.95 kW was achieved. This high self-consumption rate indicates the efficiency of the solar power system in meeting the energy needs of the park.
In the first year alone, West Country Parks achieved a combined saving of £25,587.00, a significant reduction in their operational costs. Additionally, the transition to solar energy led to a substantial decrease in their carbon footprint, with a combined CO2 saving of 33.36 tonnes.
The project delivered swift and substantial returns on investment, prompting West Country Parks to extend this technology across all their parks. As their renewable energy partner, Energy Oasis continues to work closely with them to further reduce their dependence on grid-purchased electricity and transition towards a more sustainable and financially efficient energy model.

Client Testimonial
“We are delighted to partner with Energy Oasis. As our business is reliant on visitors coming to enjoy the stunning Somerset countryside, we feel that it is our responsibility to do everything that we can to help repair the planet and reduce our carbon footprint.”
— Group Manager, David Tattersall,
We have completed a further three solar installations at Edithmead Leisure and Park Homes and Fairways Holiday Park near Burnham-on-Sea and Rose Farm near Brean. The new systems will significantly reduce their reliance on fossil fuels to power all three park’s numerous facilities and will see West Country Park’s business save an additional 26.69 tonnes of carbon per year across Edithmead, Fairways and Rose Farm. That's the equivalent of planting 1,226 trees, every single year.
We are now looking at other renewable energy technology to further reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, such as wind and hydro.
